Managing Time..
Here are 10 tips you could consider to keep yourself in the race...
Keep Making Lists - Though isn't a theoretical practice by any means, writing down often, assigning peppy tasks at the moment and completing them will up your confidence and give you a sense of satisfaction and responsibility. Completing those tasks (Make sure those peppy ones aren't worthless ones!) will somehow help you keep time and accomplish your main task. Always keep planning, you could use a small pocket-planner for this.
Share your Responsibilities - This is not at all uncommon, you are all charged up and sit down to write a schedule and often overestimate your abilities and responsibilities and assign yourself too much work. So you shouldn't mind delegating your responsibilities to someone who you think can do it for you. Again, it isn't uncommon, so go ahead with it.
Prioritize Your Goals - Completing those peppy tasks and settling down to relax is not the right thing to do. Those peppy tasks should help you accomplish your main goal, for which you have to prioritize your goals. You can prioritize them as High, Medium, Low or even Most Important, Important and less Important. If you are a beginner, make sure you at least complete 60-70% of your prioritized goals.
Make Use of Non-Prioritized Time - Do not prioritize each and every task you do, you would be chasing around goals all day only to find yourself completely stressed. Some very simple examples would be walking, driving, time in the bathroom etc. These are obviously non-prioritized activities and this time you can spend to prioritize your goals for the next day. Again, Prioritization is the key!
Reward Yourself - Whenever you complete a highly prioritized task, make sure you give yourself a little reward. Don't do this for every little task but do it just for the highly prioritized ones. Make sure, the reward you are giving yourself won't steal time from some other important task.
Focus on One Thing - The human brain works best when concentrated on one thing. Don't cram several tasks together. It should be known to you, that multitasking is not efficient, even for the best time managers it stands true.
Avoid Procrastination - It is the best productivity and time-killer. Avoid it at any cost! Simple, try to be productive and try to save a little time at least.
Set Proper Deadlines - They are very dangerous, if not met with, they cause stress, anger worry and distress. Be realistic when you set your deadlines, analyze your abilities and the time you will have. Keep all the factors in mind and set a good deadline. You should have the confidence that you will be able to meet it.
Pick a Buddy - Befriend someone who is also on the same lines, Who has a schedule to keep and has to manage his/her time. Morally, it is really uplifting, when you do better than your pal and uplifting in Motivational terms when your pal does better. So it's a win-win situation here.
Be Careful of a Breakdown/ Burnout - Don't overestimate your abilities and give yourself a very tough job. There may come a time when the mind and the body cannot work in unison and may cause a complete burnout. You will lag behind so much that you will never have the same motivation to follow a schedule.
Make sure you follow the above tips and I assure you will have a sound success.
